OUR Story
DOLORES ANN & WILLIAM IRVING SIEGEL
1937-2003
1939-1977
Siegels Soul Kitchen was created to honor William & Lois Siegel. William, a record executive in the 1950’s met his songstress bride Lois while she was performing at Harlem’s famous Apollo Theater. After a two-week courtship, the two married and the legacy began. He was a white Jewish man and his bride, the black daughter of a Methodist preacher. Lois was an amazing cook. She introduced him to soul food. Fried chicken, mac and cheese, collard greens, yams, fried fish, cornbread and much, much, more! Music has always been a part of the Siegel legacy. Lois (Blane) Siegel, a songstress filled our home with love, food, and music for your very soul. We honor our Patriarch and Matriarch with Siegel’s Soul Kitchen.
Forever in our hearts
